I have never thought I would learn how to classify images with a computer. Animals, figures, familiar items, etc. turned into a world made of pixels and high-level features!
A bridge over centuries
I am of course impressed by what machines can perform nowadays, their computing power, their ability to discover unexpected patterns, but most of all I admire the tremendous ingenuity, talent, creativity, patience, curiosity, boldness and perseverance that it has taken men and women throughout history to make this possible.

Leibniz and his famous Explanation of Binary Arithmetic dates back to 1703. An example of just one branch of this huge family tree on which our digital society has developed.
