1984 - More than a book
On this day, January 21st, in 1950 famed author George Orwell passed away.
Last Christmas holidays I read its famous dystopian masterpiece 1984.
This book is so well written, and so frightening and chilling!!
Especially the third part.
Torture, for the hero as well as for the reader.
The ideology of the Party is unsane, scary.
I was regularly about to give up reading. No. Sometimes it is important to face the worst scenario.
We have great technologies at our disposal. What do we want to use them for?
1984, everyone should read this masterpiece to value and protect democracy and human rights.
A week ago I posted on LinkedIn an interview of André Kudelski, CEO of the eponymous group, published in Le Temps. He gives his vision of society and expresses his concern about certain abuses of control. "There is a lot of educational work to be done on the drifts of the system"; for those reading French it’s worth a read.
Have a lovely weekend!
